The Atlantic Coast Orchestra is a symphonic musical ensemble that has maintained a regular program since March 25, 2015, when it performed for the first time in concert.
The orchestra brings together instrumentalists of a high technical and artistic standard in a formation of singular excellence on the Portuguese music scene.
Made up of sixty professional instrumentalists, the Atlantic Coast Orchestra can be reduced or expanded according to the specifics of each concert program. In this way, the orchestra can perform a wide repertoire, ranging from Baroque to contemporary music, ballets, operas or film soundtracks, ensuring an intense and versatile artistic activity.
Each season, the Atlantic Coast Orchestra performs a regular series of concerts in various venues across the country. Through its concert activity and the creativity of the programmes it presents, the orchestra plays a decentralizing role in giving people access to classical music. It also contributes to attracting and training new audiences and generates undeniable cultural and social value for the communities and territories where it performs.
The Atlantic Coast Orchestra's Artistic Director and Principal Conductor is Luis Miguel Clemente, recognized as one of the most charismatic, talented and stimulating conductors on the Portuguese music scene.
The artistic project led by the Atlantic Coast Orchestra is recognized as one of the most innovative and a reference in the field of classical music in Portugal.
